“What’s Your Bag?” (April 2 through April 25, 2010)
Opening reception: Friday, April 2, 7-10 pm
Closing reception: Sunday, April 25, 3-6 pm
Look around. Bags are in our culture. Your everyday life does not exist without bags of some kind. You usually don’t go from point A to point B without a bag of some sort. Whether you are bringing food home, taking work home, travelling away from home, you are most likely using a bag. Shopping bags, handbags, man bags, backpacks, airbags, sleeping bags, saddle bags, money bags, suitcases, satchels, sacks, etc.
This show explores the bag in any form. Think “out of the bag” and present bags in art. The bag as art. Art made of bags. Art made from bags. Bags in your artwork. Art made on bags. The possibilities are endless.
THIS SHOW IS OPEN TO ALL. There is no official juror but acceptance will be at the Curators’ discretion. Fiber, clay, paper, paint, photography, glass, wood, metal and all other media accepted and expected. Artists are permitted to enter up to 3 pieces for the show. For participating artists there will also be a marketplace within the gallery where you may stock up to 10 items for cash and carry sales.
Submission drop off dates are Sunday, March 21st 6-8 pm and Monday, March 22nd 5-8 pm
