CHAL Art Exhibit: Seascapes

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL), a program of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW), will open its next exhibit, “Seascapes,” on Saturday, March 13, 2010, 5-7 PM at CHAW, 545 7^th Street SE with a reception and gallery talk for the public. The show’s juror is Trudi Van Dyke. Admission to the opening and exhibit is free. The all-media show of original art work continues through April March 2^nd. Gallery hours are: 9:30AM-9:00 PM (M-Th), 9:30AM-6:00 PM (F), and 9:00AM-2:00 PM (Sat).

Trudi Van Dyke, both curator and consultant, has ten years experience in art center management at the Torpedo Factory Art Center (Alexandria, Virginia) and the Ellipse Arts Center (Arlington, Virginia). She teaches arts management at George Mason University, and curates exhibitions nationally and internationally, including recent work with the Artisans Center of Virginia and the Embassy of Israel. She serves on local, regional and statewide grants award panels, juries and boards, and writes on the Arts for the Alexandria Times and Elan Magazine.

Also, on March 13^th, immediately following the opening at 7 PM, CHAW is presenting Tommy Parlon Dance Projects and Nicole Lamm, Soprano, and Jesse Crites, Guitarist in a concert of new dance works and Spanish songs for voice and guitar. Admission to the hour-long concert is $10 at the door.
